While my passion is photography, it is influenced by my earlier endeavors in drawing and painting. It embraces the beauty of nature in traditional photography, forms creatures of fantasy, creates surreal compositions, or whimsical images and designs through the use of various digital drawing and painting techniques.

SHERRIE FRYXELL, M.Photog.M.Artist
BIO: Sherrie has been creating art all her life in various media, and in later years, photography became her passion too. She is a recipient of numerous State and Regional Awards, including a Fujifilm Masterpiece Award. In 2022, Sherrie received both her Master Photographer and Master Artist degrees from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and is currently working on her Craftsman's Degree for teaching. Since 2018, fifteen of her images have been selected for PPA’s distinguished Imaging Excellence Collection at PPA's annual International Photography Competition (IPC). She was named a PPA Silver Medalist in 2019, a Diamond Medalist in 2021, Platinum and Gold Medalists in 2022 and was published in the February 2022 edition of PPA’s ‘Professional Photographer’ Magazine. As a member of various local NY affiliates, she served as President of Capital Champlain from 2018 to 2020, was Competition Chairwoman for the Professional Photographers' Society of NYS (PPSNYS) in 2021 and 2022, and has been Hudson Valley’s Newsletter Editor since 2013. Sherrie resides in Moreau, NY.
